Studio 214 rebrands Lesotho National Broadcasting Services
Johannesburg-based agency, Studio 214, recently completed the first phase of Lesotho National Broadcasting Services (LNBS)’s rebranding. Together with BLQINC, a Lesotho-based TV production company, Studio 214 was appointed late in 2016 to help breathe new life into LNBS’s image.
While BLQINC has focused on helping the broadcaster upgrade its technical abilities and upskill its staff, Studio 214 has developed the rebranding strategy, new positioning and the various key brand properties, including a new identity, payoff line and on-air idents.
“Working on such an important project for a neighbouring country fits well into our ambitions of growing into a respected, African company, working across the continent,” says Melusi Tshabalala, Studio 214 managing director. “Johannesburg is just our physical home, but we are very much about Africa in how we approach everything.”
Says Kholiwe Sinuma, Studio 214 ECD,“Having spent a significant portion of my youth in exile in Zimbabwe, my outlook has always been beyond South Africa. I immerse myself in the sights, sounds, smells and experiences of the continent. For me to get the opportunity to be part of the team that adds to Lesotho’s tapestry is definitely an honour I cherish. This is definitely the kind of work I wake up for every morning. That’s if I go to sleep, at all.”
